Do you have any ideas for an auction/classified system that you would like to see? We are hoping to have it up in July and then we will begin advertising Blogsalvage.com to get buyers and sellers in the door.

More to come. Have a great day.

All dead blogs start with good intentions. Dreams of grandeur begin when we first conceive of the perfect blog idea. The idea pops into our heads, we search the internet for a similar blog and then our hearts skip a beat when we realize that we may have an original idea for our original idea. We check for the perfect domain and then find one that will due if we aren’t lucky enough to get the one we first had in mind.

We set it up and spend every spare moment working on it. We write non-stop for a few days and then…

Nothing. We don’t see any movement. No one answers our posts. No one comments and we skip a day or two. We decide to write on weekends instead and then we don’t get to it. The original idea still thrills us but we just can’t get back to it right now. Then one day we log back in and realize that WordPress needs to be updated so we update and realize that our last post was 6 months ago. We write a quick post and promise halfheartedly that we will write again. Then we don’t.

Right now, go log into that old blog. Update it and write a new post. Then schedule a post for tomorrow and don’t skip the date. If you leave for work at 8am then schedule your writing for 6AM. If you are serious you will do it. If not then list it here and sell it and forget about it.

Maybe someone else will develop your dream if you won’t.

What is your goal?

If it is to write and be read then write and be read today.

We’ve been posting articles for a while on our site but I felt it was time to go with a full fledged blog considering that Blogsalvage.com is about salvaging old blogs, building blogs and reviving blogs that have been neglected and abused.

We are working on the classified/auction section right now so that you will be able to buy or sell your blog or blog parts here. Our mission is to create a one stop shop for blogging.

Over the coming weeks we will be adding the classifieds/auction. We are having it coded now. We will also have a forum up shortly so that we can all interact in a freer environment than is possible on a static website. The forum will be a wordpress plugin type. We will build the entire thing on a WordPress platform. If we don’t it defeats the entire notion of what we are doing here.

The auction/classified system will also be built upon the WordPress platform. We are having the platform coded to give some nice feature to sales of blogs with domain names so that you will know about unique content, Page Rank, domain history and other items. Nothing like that exists currently so we are spending some money getting it built.

Please let me know what you think. It’s important that we get your feedback.

We will reach out to some of the top mentors in blogging to see if they will post guest article and offer deals on blog training. This should be huge for our users. I’ve attended many of the blog and webmaster courses out there and there a couple I will recommend. Some I will steer you away from.

I hope we can learn from each other as a community and build great blogs that we can brag about here. That’s once they have great content and are useful to the world at large.

Happy Blogging,

Ken
